KING Edmund Gym Club were in scintillating form on the mat once more to claim medals in all three categories they entered at the Ottendorf-Okrilla international competition near Dresden.

The South Gloucestershire contingent were among 15 clubs from seven countries, including Hungary, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic and hosts Germany, taking part in the tournament.

Topping the tree for the Yate aces were up-and-coming starlets Grace Monchar, Chelsea Kent and Paige Weeks, who won gold in the 11-16 women’s trio class, while Marcus Flint and Harry Hole took a super silver in the men’s pairs section and Jade Gibbs and Elise King combined brilliantly to claim bronze in the 11-16 age bracket.

King Eddies head coach Nikki Thorne said: “It was a fantastic outcome, considering that our gymnasts were competing against some top performers from national teams.”
